A relaxed afternoon tasting experience through the Gibbston Valley and back into Queenstown, with the choice of wine or craft beer at each stop. With three hand-picked locations, shared antipasto platters, and a late afternoon start, this tour is an easy way to enjoy some of the region’s best flavours without giving up the whole day.
Your guide will meet you at the Station Building in central Queenstown before heading out towards the Gibbston Valley. With a small group and a later afternoon departure, the pace of the tour feels easy from the start, making it a good fit whether you have already spent the day exploring or have only just arrived in town.
The first stop is the GT Tasting Room at the historic Gibbston Tavern. Here, you can choose between local wine or craft beer, depending on what you feel like starting with. It is a relaxed introduction to the region and a good way to settle into the afternoon.
Next is Kinross, where the tasting opens up a little more. Wine guests can explore a range of boutique labels, while beer drinkers can enjoy a selection from a local small-batch brewery. Shared antipasto platters are included here, which gives everyone time to pause, taste, and enjoy the setting rather than moving straight on to the next stop.
The final stop is Altitude Brewing at Frankton Marina, right on the edge of Lake Wakatipu with views across to The Remarkables. Known for its laid-back taproom and rotating craft beers, it is a fitting way to finish the tour, whether you have spent the afternoon following the beer side, the wine side, or a bit of both.
After your final tasting, your guide returns you to central Queenstown as the evening gets going. It is an easy tour to fit into a wider Queenstown itinerary, and a good option for anyone wanting a shorter wine and craft beer experience that still feels complete.
